Maintenance
Airconditioning systems that need to cool and dehumidify uses a compressor, condenser, evaporator coil, and refrigerant piping to operate. The refrigerant gas used in the system is compressed and run through condenser coil (a series of tubes) to remove as much heat as possible, then piped to an evaporator coil as a warm liquid.
Expansion of the compressed liquid causes it to cool, and as the air passes over the evaporator coil, heat is extracted. The cool liquid becomes a cool gas as it gathers heat from the air, and is drawn back to the compressor to start the procedure again.
Central Air Conditioning
Airconditioners are divided into Ducted and Non-Ducted systems. Ducted systems (central and packaged airconditioners) are normally chosen for airconditioning large spaces like hotels and multi-storeyed buildings.
Split AC
The term "split" refers to the physical separation of the condenser and the evaporator - the outdoor unit and the indoor unit respectively. Both units are connected by refrigerant tubing and electrical cabling. This is in contrast to a window or wall air conditioner in which they are "packaged" together. split and window airconditioners are mainly used for smaller spaces like individual rooms in an office or residence.
District Energy
District energy is not a new concept. These
energy systems operate in nearly every major city in Europe
and United States also now in the UAE. Many people may not be
familiar with district energy because it quietly does its
job, as the pipes that deliver the liquid is usually
buried underneath the streets.
District energy systems produce steam/ice-slurry or hot/chilled water at a central plant and then piped out
to multiple buildings in the district for heating or air
conditioning. Buildings connected to district energy
systems offers better load management and have lower
capital costs for their energy equipment because they
don't need conventional boilers and chillers. They also
save building space that can be used for other purposes.
Reduce your cooling bills
All air conditioning systems, large or small, need good air flow across the condenser coil. Its purpose is to transfer heat from the refrigerant used in the system.
